The film portrays Bischof's work as a photojournalist, including his photographs and his letters. Film clips from Weekly News Reports of the time reflect the climate which prevailed during the Cold War of the '50's, as well as the world of sensational press, in which Bischof began to fell more and more ill at ease. The film depicts a previously unknown side of the photographer Bischof, who had an early glimpse into what later became known as the "Third World".
